Mayor Todd Thompson called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m.
Present: Mayor Todd Thompson, Council Members Gregory Clark, William Ehinger, Kim Ervans, Paul Frechette, Russell Jackson, Chad Lucas
Absent: None
Other officers present: City Manager Patrick McGinnis, Clerk/Treasurer Jane Tennant, Police Chief Rodger Williams, and Attorney Christine Juarez
All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Boy Scout Troop #971 was present. They are working on their Citizenship in the Community merit badge.

Mayor Thompson noted that Council Member Frechette received the State Trooper of the Year Award.

Manager McGinnis stated he is receiving feedback concerning the ice and snow on the sidewalks. He stated that the City helps clear snow during a large snowfall but it is the property owner’s responsibility to keep sidewalks free of ice and snow throughout the winter. He further stated that the Charter provides for this and he will send out letters to property owners who are in violation.

Council Member Lucas stated there are problems with rental housing in the City and he feels the City needs to take a leadership role in this area. He stated he would like the Manager to set up a committee of landlords to come up with procedures and guidelines to provide safe housing. Manager McGinnis stated he could obtain some sample ordinances and meet with some of the landlords and get their input. Attorney Juarez offered her firm’s services on the project if needed.
