DPW has been very busy with projects this year, with road projects and parking lot repairs along with starting upgrades to the water system. Although it is frustrating for us when there is, construction going on the improvements after are very much appreciated. We would like to thank you for your patience as these improvements take place!
One project that has been completed is the work on Fairview Rd. this project is funded through MDOT rural task force money. With the road, itself being remilled and resurfaced.Valley St was remilled and resurfaced and repairs made to damaged sidewalks. Along with the water main from Houghton Ave. to State St. being replaced thoroughly on Fairview Rd. with new valves, hydrants, and service line to the curb box. The water portion of this project was funded by the City of West Branch.
There are several other streets set to be repaved this summer as well. On this list is S. 6th St. from Houghton Ave to Wright St. this will be remillled and resurfaced. Shrigley from S. Valley to Livingston will be pulverized and resurfaced. These are local streets and will be funded by the City of West Branch.
Several Parking Lots are going to be redone this year as well the ones slated for the 2019 season are N. 4th St across from City Hall and N. 2nd St. behind Highway Brewing Company they will have the full depth removed and be resurfaced. This job was bid out and Mid-Michigan Asphalt received the job. These projects are being funded out of the City Major Street Fund.

Once the laundromat is demolished, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is set to come up with a plan to enhance this space and make downtown even more inviting to our residents and visitors.Weather you live here full time, part-time or are just visiting these improvements are sure to make your travels more enjoyable!
